Department of Mental Health Nursing

AIMS:

Enables the students to become empathetic mental health care professionals; which includes promotion of mental health, prevention of mental illness, identification of need based care and rehabilitation to the mentally ill person and other needy persons.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To provide quality of nursing education for students in imparting and upgrading in-depth knowledge and skill.
  2. The department provide comprehensive learner based advanced level of teaching and training to the students in the field of Mental Health and mental illness
  3. To incorporate the interdisciplinary sciences to prepare the competent mental health nurse.
  4. To develop the skills of student in care of mentally ill patients and promotion of mental health.
  5. To create the awareness in community regarding the mental health, mental health services and mental illness.
  6. To motivate and arouse interest in research and use of evidence based practices in mental health nursing.
  7. To provide the guidance and counseling services to the students for meeting their academic, clinical, career, personal and social needs.
  8. To Plan, Organize and conduct various international, National health days.
